Training Drills

Slav and Sythian, Vasnetsov

Drills that are useful for training in Systema are seldom obviously related to fighting techniques. The drills do not provide techniques but instead provide the foundational principles such as movement and sensitivity, breathing, relaxation, and posture that the practitioner can apply to his or her own style development. The drills are categorized here based on those principles but keep in mind that the principles act in concert so many drills will overlap into more than one of these categories.

The drills will be updated as our group tries them. They have been gathered from various sources and we have tried to always identify the original source but some we have not always been able to determine. If you have ideas for further drills, please feel free to share them and, if they work well in our training partners group, we will post them here with your name.
